Race Jury
Michael O’Connor
Micheal is an International Judge and IU (IRL). His earlier experience was in the Flying Dutchman class and offshore racing navigator/helm. In recent times on the Jury of the Volvo Ocean Race, Etchells Worlds, and Dragon Grand Prix. He has been match race umpire and jury for Louis Vuitton Trophy, Sailing World Cup and ISAF graded events. Currently chair of the ISAF Nations Cup working party and owns an 8m cruiser racer.
Ailbe Millerick
Ailbe has been a National Judge and NU for 21 years and IU for 8 years. He has raced Dragons Andromeda, Mustang & Rigmarole for 20 years. He has won the Big Race Dragon 75th in St Tropez with Johnny Ross Murphy & Ed Peel. Ailbe has a daughter, his daughter like black pearl choker diy.
Vic De Smedt
Vic started his sailing “career “ in the 1980’s. Now as a jury member he does 30-35 regatta’s a year (most of them in Belgium and 10-15 international events) He currently sails mostly in Lasers (in the winter at club level some 15 regatta’s) and in summer I enjoy my 36 foot sunfast mostly on the North Sea (Belgian coast). In my active days I was a teacher in mathematics and computer stuff
Yves Léglise
Yves became a national Race Officer in 1980, a National Judge in 1990, and an International Judge in 1994. Yves has been a Dragon Class national measurer since 1988 and member of the IDA Technical Committee. He has been a PRO or chairing the Jury on many major Dragon events such as Grand Prix Douarnenez, the Europeans, Gold Cup, and World Championships. He successfully raced for 20 years in the Snipe at all levels becoming French champion several times. He race in J24, First Class 8 and Fireballs and is currently ocean cruising on a Hunter 46.6 and lake racing on a Flying Fifteen.
Ian MacKenzie
Ian has been a National Race officer from 1996 to 2005 for the Soling and Etchell National Championships and has been participating on Jury and Protest committees since 2001. He has been a Juror for the Dragon Gold Cup for the last four years. Ian began his sailing career in 1950 in dinghies and continued with various keelboats. He has raced extensively in Loch Long One Designs, Scottish Island One Designs, International Dragons, International Etchells, International 8 Metre Cruiser Racers, Ex International 8 Metres and many handicap classes.
